כשווירוס הקורונה הופיע לראשונה בוו-האן ב-2019, המפלגה הקומוניסטית הסינית (מק"ס) טייחה בשיטתיות את ההתפרצות, מה שהוביל למגפה שכיום הורסת את העולם. לאחר מכן ניהל המשטר קמפיין מידע מוטעה כשהוא מציג את עצמו כמושיען של מדינות שנפגעו באמצעות ההדבקה.
